faux pas Data Deletion

faux pas does not require an email-and-password account. When authenticated content access or subscription verification needs one, the app may automatically create an anonymous account and session. You can reset local learning data or delete that account from inside the app.

Deleting data or an account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription.

Reset learning data on this device

Open Profile in faux pas.
Under Settings, choose Reset Learning Data.
Confirm Delete Learning History and Notes.

This removes completed sentences, answers, scores, practice history, saved Notes, progress used for recommendations, and the current practice session from this device. Your display name, app settings, anonymous account, purchase access, and Apple subscription remain.

This action cannot be undone by Restore Purchases.

Delete the anonymous account and app data

Open Profile in faux pas.
Under Settings, choose Delete Account & Data.
Review the subscription notice and confirm Delete Account & Data.

When the request succeeds, faux pas deletes the automatically created Supabase Auth user, revokes the current server connection and linked sessions, deletes incomplete purchase-attempt records, and removes learning history, Notes, the current practice session, progress, and the display name from this device.

This action does not remotely erase local learning records or backups on another device. It also does not cancel or refund an Apple subscription.

What may be retained

Limited pseudonymous transaction records and restoration identifiers may remain where needed for subscription restoration, refunds, disputes, fraud prevention, transaction integrity, accounting, audit, or applicable legal obligations. Where practicable, they are disconnected from an active anonymous app account.

Apple keeps App Store payment, subscription, and refund records under its own policies. faux pas does not hold your payment-card details.

Subscriptions and refunds are separate

To stop renewal, use Apple subscription settings. To request a refund, use Apple's Report a Problem website. Deleting faux pas data does not perform either action.

Backups and other devices

Deleting information inside faux pas does not remove copies that may remain in an existing iCloud or computer backup, and it cannot erase local information from another device. Manage those backups and devices separately through Apple and your device settings.

If you cannot use the app

If you no longer have access to faux pas or in-app deletion fails, email hello@undisturbed.studio with the subject [faux pas] Data deletion. Tell us what you want deleted and whether you can still open the app.

Because faux pas does not use email-based registration, an email address alone may not identify the anonymous app account. We may ask for the minimum information reasonably needed to locate and verify the relevant record. Do not send passwords, verification codes, card numbers, or app authentication tokens. We will confirm the request and explain the scope and expected timing. Information that must be retained under applicable law will be identified with the reason it cannot yet be deleted.
