Shortence Terms of Service

These terms cover the use of Shortence and its subscription. Your App Store download is also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement. Shortence is operated by Studio Undisturbed.

What the app provides

Shortence offers short word clips, daily podcast briefings with a transcript, reading passages and Recap questions for learners of English. Content is delivered from our server and may be added, corrected or removed to fix errors or improve learning quality.

Free use and Premium

• Reading passages are free.

• Word clips are free up to a daily number of new words, shown in the app when you reach it. Clips you have already watched stay free to review.

• The first 60 seconds of every podcast, with its transcript, are free.

• Premium is an auto-renewable subscription, monthly or annual, that opens full podcasts and transcripts, Recap questions, setting the exam you are preparing for, and new word clips without a daily limit.

Apple shows the actual price before purchase and processes payment with your App Store payment method. The subscription renews for the selected period unless auto-renewal is cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

A subscription does not guarantee an exam score or a learning outcome. Premium access may end when a subscription expires or a refund or revocation takes effect. Removing the app, clearing your history, or deleting your account and data does not cancel a subscription or refund a payment.

Content and exams

Podcast briefings are researched, written and narrated with AI tools from public news, and clips, passages and questions are prepared for study. They can contain errors; tell us and we will check and correct them.

Shortence is a study aid. It is not official preparation material for any exam, and its questions are not past exam questions. IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC and other exam names are trademarks of their respective owners; Shortence is not affiliated with, approved or endorsed by them.

Use and your records

Do not infringe others' rights, forge purchases or access, bypass the service's security, copy the content in bulk, or disrupt the service with excessive requests.

Your history, saved words and exam choice are stored on your device and mirrored to an automatically created anonymous account. There is no sign-in, so they do not follow you to another device. See the privacy policy.

Maintenance and applicable rights

We may change the service or pause parts of it for security, incident response, legal compliance or improvement, and give notice of material effects in advance where we reasonably can. These terms do not exclude the operator's legal responsibilities or your mandatory statutory rights.
