Shortence Data Deletion

These instructions are for Shortence. Your history, saved words and exam choice are stored on your device and mirrored to an anonymous account that the app creates automatically. There is no sign-in.

Clear your history

  1. Open Shortence and tap the profile button.

  2. Choose Clear history.

This deletes the list of podcasts and articles you opened, on the device and on our server. Saved words and your exam choice stay.

Remove a saved word

Open the word clip and tap its bookmark again. The word is removed on the device and on our server.

Delete your account and all data

  1. Open Profile.

  2. Choose Delete account and data and confirm.

This deletes the anonymous account together with the saved words, history and exam choice linked to it, revokes its session, deletes pending purchase requests, and clears the same information from the device. It cannot be undone. Verified transaction and subscription records are kept as long as needed to handle refunds, prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations.

This does not cancel an Apple subscription. To cancel, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. If you use the app again afterwards, it creates a new anonymous account; Restore purchases links an active subscription to it.

Delete the app's local data

Use Delete App in iOS to remove the app and its local data, including cached lessons. Offload App keeps its documents and data, so it is not a full deletion. Copies in a device backup are managed separately in Apple's settings and services.

Ask us to delete data we hold

To request deletion of subscription records or a support conversation, write to hello@undisturbed.studio with the subject [Shortence] Data deletion. For a subscription, include the purchase date and, if possible, the order ID from your Apple receipt.

Do not send passwords or identity documents we have not asked for. We handle the request under applicable law and tell you if something must be kept for a legal obligation.
