Shortence Privacy Policy

Shortence is operated by Studio Undisturbed. This policy explains what the iOS app stores on your device, what our server keeps, and how to delete it. Questions and requests: hello@undisturbed.studio.

No sign-in, an anonymous account

The app never asks for a name, email address or password. The first time it needs the server it creates an anonymous account automatically and keeps its session in the device Keychain. That account is how the server knows which saved words, history and subscription belong to this installation.

Stored only on your device

Your theme, your narration setting, which word clips you have already watched and how many new ones you opened today, and a cached copy of the lesson catalog and its narration stay on the device. The home-screen widgets read a small copy of the latest briefings and words, which briefings you have opened, whether Premium is active and what is currently playing, from a storage area shared between the app and its widget on the device. The widget fetches new briefings from our server without an account or session.

Kept on our server

• The anonymous account and its session identifiers.

• Your saved words, the podcasts and articles you opened with the time you last opened each, and the exam you chose to prepare for.

• If you subscribe: Apple transaction, original transaction and product identifiers, subscription status, expiration and revocation times, and verification hashes.

• Request times and counts, error codes and technical connection information (such as IP address) needed to operate and protect the service.

The app does not collect or store card numbers. It does not record or upload microphone audio. It contains no advertising SDK and does not track you across apps or websites.

Why we process it

• To authenticate content requests without a sign-in form.

• To keep your saved words, history and exam choice and restore them on this device.

• To verify Premium subscriptions, restore purchases, and apply renewals, expirations, refunds and revocations.

• To limit excessive requests and investigate errors and security problems.

AI-made content

Podcast scripts, narration and images are produced in advance with AI services (xAI and fal.ai). Nothing about you or your use of the app is sent to those providers.

The short meaning shown when you tap a word in a passage comes from the app's own word list or is written on your device by Apple Intelligence, where the device has it. The word and its sentence are not sent to us or to anyone else.

Providers

• Apple (App Store, StoreKit): payments and subscription management. Apple does not give us your card details.

• Supabase: anonymous authentication, content delivery, your saved items and subscription status. The database is hosted in the Seoul region.

• Vercel: verification of transaction information signed by Apple.

Each provider's support and security infrastructure may process related information in other countries.

Support messages

If you write to us, we process your email address, message and attachments to reply. Hide personal information you do not need to share in screenshots.

Retention and deletion

Saved words, history and your exam choice are kept until you remove them, clear your history, or delete your account and data. Delete account and data in Profile removes the anonymous account with everything linked to it, revokes its session, deletes purchase-attempt records and clears the same information from the device. Pseudonymous transaction records and restoration identifiers needed for subscription restoration, refunds, disputes and transaction integrity are retained while those purposes or legal obligations remain, then deleted or de-identified. Technical logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security and troubleshooting.

Your choices and requests

You can clear your history, remove saved words, or delete your account and data in the app at any time. For access, correction or deletion requests we cannot fulfil in the app, write to hello@undisturbed.studio. Deleting app data or your account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it in your App Store subscription settings.

Children

The app does not ask for a name, email address, location or contacts. Parents or guardians can send questions about a child's information to the address above.

Changes to this policy

If our data practices change, we update this page and the policy shown inside the app, and announce material changes in the app or on this website.
